My story is unfortunately not one that is rare or even out of the ordinary. What makes my story unique is the fact that I was able to persevere, overcome and change my life. Yes, the photo’s you see of my life are at very distinct phases of my life.
As a child and as a teen I struggled with being overweight and unattractive. My dream was to become a famous athlete, model, actress, and motivational speaker. In order to achieve any of these goals, I would have to constantly battle insecurity, low self-esteem and worse. As I grew older I would also have to face bulimia, divorce, drug abuse, anorexia, and more.
On February 13, 1997, I was rushed to the hospital where I almost died and was blessed with a near death experience that offered me the perspective of change. And even though after this latest drama I lost my hair, gained 87 pounds, lost all my worldly possessions and became homeless, still I believed that all my childhood dreams could come true.
I realized that I had been given a second chance and as painful as it was I took responsibility for myself, my actions and ultimately my denial. I took control of my life.
This is where my in-depth study into physical, emotional, and metaphysical training began to transform my life.
There was a whole world just waiting for me to enjoy and I found that my mission has become to bring this message to others and to help them believe in themselves. I realized that it doesn’t take a miracle to make a lifestyle change. It takes knowing that you are able and willing to make the changes that are possible.
I lost 87 pounds in less than a year and began to refocus on my dreams. I began competing again and winning various competitions around the US. In 2000 I won the World Natural Ms. Figure 2000 and Ms. Fitness model search 2000. I have become aware of creating my hearts desires; from my heart. I am currently involved in charity work, motivational speaking, authoring several books and much more. I am the mother of four wonderful children, Ashlee 22, Tyler 16, Twins-, Haley Faith 6 and Hanna Hope 6.
My goal now is to help people realize that anything is achievable at any age when you create from your heart and believe in yourself.
